Pot Scrubbers

I started using my own pot scrubbers everywhere in my kitchen lately not just for pots.  I know, I've been making them for everyone else but I still was using a stanky sponge myself.

I LOVE them. I'm using them for dishes, cleaning the counters, and wiping down the stove. I decided I want a clean one for every day of the week plus one extra in case I have a lazy laundry week.

Just like with my face scrubbies I needed to keep them close and yet pretty so I went to work on a basket to hold them all. This one is a nice blue stripe with a square bottom. I really liked the way the rolled over cuff looks plus it adds some strength to hold the basket to shape without needed to starch it.

I don't know if the stitch I used on the scrubbers is one already out there but I had a 'ah ha' moment and combined 2 different stitches to make them thick and nubby at the same time. They are a single layer unlike most of the other patterns I found that sew 2 layers of crochet together. I may share the stitch eventually but waiting for a little feedback from testers first. The scrubbers are thick and work nicely for me.

Now that the holidays are over I'm working on finishing a few promised pieces.
I just finished my stand-by-been-making-for-years grandma slippers. I think I've made them in every color combination and size imaginable. This pair is in the mail to my son.

The next time I make them I'll do a tutorial.
